W. Paul Sawyer, M.D., F.A.C.S. graduated from Davidson
College in 1971 where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
He attended the University of North Carolina Medical School at
Chapel Hill and received his medical degree in 1975. He spent the
next year interning at the University of Florida. After two years
as a General Medical Officer in the United States Navy, he returned
to the University of Florida and completed his urological and surgical
training in 1982. Dr. Sawyer is a past Chairman of the Department
of Surgery and Chairman of the Medical Staff at Tallahassee Memorial
Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
From 1995 to 1996, he served as president of the Florida Urological
Society. He is also a member of the American Urological Association
and the southeast section of the American Urological Association.
Dr. Sawyer holds an appointment on the Clinical Faculty at the
University of Florida College of Medicine, as well as an appointment at the Florida State University College of Medicine. He is an active member
of St. John's Episcopal Church. He is a long
time member of the Tallahassee Rotary Club. Dr. Sawyer and his
wife, Jonette, have three children. The family enjoys traveling,
reading and water sports. |
