Raleigh W. Rollins, M.D., F.A.C.S. was born and
raised in Bainbridge, Georgia. He received his bachelor's degree
from the University of Georgia in 1964, and completed medical school
at the Medical College of Georgia in 1969. He continued his education
with an internship at the University of Tennessee Medical facility
in Memphis, Tennessee, followed by a year of general surgical residency.
He spent the next three years as a urological resident at the University
of Florida Shands Teaching Hospital. While at the University of
Florida, he won a National Research Award sponsored by the American
Urological Association. After completing his residency, he served
in the United States Army as Chief of Urology at the United States
Aeromedical Center in Fort Rucker, Alabama. While serving in the
Army, he won the Army Commendation Medal for his medical services.
Dr. Rollins has practiced urology in Tallahassee since 1976. During
that period of time, he has served as Chairman of the Department
of Surgery and Chairman of the Medical Staff at Tallahassee Memorial
Hospital. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and
is a past president of the Florida Urological Society. He is a
Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Rollins holds an
appointment on the Clinical Faculty at the University of Florida
School of Medicine. His community service involvement includes
the Exchange Club of Tallahassee and past membership on the Tallahassee
Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors. Dr. Rollins and his wife each have two grown children. |
