Once
your procedure is completed, you will be taken to our recovery
area where your family joins you. Our recovery area includes
an open recovery area with privacy curtains, as well as personal,
recovery suites featuring reclining chairs. Gowns will be
provided, but you are welcome to bring your own pajamas, robe
and slippers if you prefer.
Our nurses' station
is fully staffed with registered nurses and licensed practical
nurses that are specially trained in the needs of our post-operative
patients. While you are recovering, your physicians will check
in with you to see how you are doing after the procedure and
will speak with you and the responsible adult accompanying
you about your procedure and any follow-up treatment that
may be necessary.
After the patient is assisted to a reclining chair, a beverage will be offered.
Written discharge instructions and
home care instructions are then reviewed with
a responsible adult who will drive the
patient home. The patient and family
member(s) are
escorted to their car by one of our Recovery Room staff.
